Los Angeles — Selena Gomez confronts body shammers with her recent post to Instagram. The post comes after paparazzi photos of her showed the scar from her recent kidney transplant. Reactions online varied with uses commenting on Selena's body.

In her post,  the 'Fetish' singer  wrote that the beauty myth was "an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society’s impossible definition of flawless beauty.
